Yarns Forever in SC in August

DAZZLING DEBUT FOR

LILY CHIN SIGNATURE COLLECTION

New York—September 2005

THE YARN

Just launched in August, the Lily Chin Signature Collection is stirring excitement among knitters, crocheters, and the press alike. The six yarns in the Lily Chin Signature collection are named after Chin's favorite neighborhoods in her native Manhattan: Tribeca, a mohair blend; Chelsea, a unique blend of merino wool, cotton, and acrylic; Nolita, a fun dusting of eyelash; Central Park, a wool blend boucle with a touch of stretch (Lycra); Gramercy, a super wash merino wool with a special twist; Greenwich Village, a mohair yarn with a twist of a lustrous stand of rayon.

LILY’S CLASSES

Lily’s knitting and crocheting classes across the US have been selling out quickly, so it’s a good idea to register early if you would like to attend a class (see the “Meet Lily” section of this website for a classes near you).

QUOTES

“‘I can concentrate better while I'm crocheting,’ said Lily Chin, who won a contest establishing her as the fastest crocheter in the world. A couple of years ago, she crocheted a sweater for a talk show host while he was interviewing her, an event that set the crochet world on its ear.”
San Francisco Chronicle, 7/23/05

“Lily Chin began crocheting because her mother wanted the then-8-year-old to stay out of trouble… Chin recommends crocheting as a relaxing activity, pointing out that people are now calling crochet “the new yoga.”—The Westchester Journal News (New York), 8/7/05

“Lily Chin doesn’t want her name in lights. Just in beads…When Chin isn’t knitting for business, it’s for pleasure. ‘I can’t seem to get away from it,’ Chin said, ‘nor do I want to. It’s highly addictive.’”—The County Line News (South Carolina), 8/19/05

"It's silky, fluffy, soft what more could you expect from Lily and at a great price too. Lily's line is a new fashion statement that we have all been waiting for, and the price can be believed. Lily's line reflects all of her talents and more with encreatable prices.
As a New York yarn shop, Seaport Yarn is proud to carry Lily Chin's Signature collection. The collection is as vital as the New York City neighborhoods that inspired it's names and helps put New York on top.
