Lily Chin Launches Signature Collection of Yarns and Patterns at TNNA

You first knew her as a knitwear designer, having first been published in 1981. You then knew her as a teacher, giving workshops and lectures since 1989. Youšve come to know her as the author of books for knitting and crochet since 1999. She became famous as a media personality for the yarn industry with regular interviews on television, radio, and in newspapers nationwide. She is the official fastest crocheter in the world and a Vogue knitting master knitter.

Lily Chin is the first American knitwear designer to launch her own signature yarn collection for handknitters and crocheters, which she is premiering at The National Needle Arts Association Show June 10-12 in Columbus, Ohio. Having worked in the yarn industry for nearly 25 years, Lily Chin is thrilled to be able to offer a yarn collection that can be translated into the beautiful, wearable designs for which she has become famous.

Fueled by her passion for color and design, Chinšs new yarns represent a design-driven, spirited, stunning and bold collection that embodies a fresh approach to knitting and crochet. The six yarns in the premiere collection are named after Chinšs favorite neighborhoods in her native Manhattan: Tribeca, Chelsea, Central Park, Gramercy, Greenwich Village, and Nolita (see page 2 for story on yarns). The yarns will be available in a uniquely rich color palette and interesting mixes in several versatile weights, from $5.99 to $7.99 per 50 gram ball. "I have always been able to express my creativity in my design work. Now with the launch of my own brand I will be able to share my favorite yarns with my fans and handknitters and crocheters across America."
